I have suffered from mild anxiety since having my first child 15 years ago. It's basically because I'm a type A control personality and kids pretty much take away all organization and leave chaos. :) Anyway, I'd tried prescription meds but the side effects were more bothersome than the problem ie: weight gain, lethargy and a general feeling of disassociatedness. Enter passionflower. I'd been researching to find a natural remedy and passionflower was the only one that came up as working with no side effects. This is incredible! To be fair, one side effect is that with higher dosages it acts as a mild sedative which is fine for bedtime, it stops my mind from spinning through all the things I need to get done and allows me to rest. The other side effect is that it thins your blood and as such can lower your blood pressure. Great news if yours is high, mine runs low so I have to be a little careful. Because it thins the blood, you want to try to avoid taking aspirin. Other than that, this stuff is my miracle in a bottle. I take 10-15 drops morning and afternoon and 30 drops at bedtime. The label says 30-40 drops 2-5 times a day, so I really think it's about playing around with it to find the level you need. However, start off small and work your way up. You don't want to knock yourself out in the middle of the day. At this dosage, the 1 oz. bottle lasts me about 3 weeks.
