UPDATE Thursday July 18:
Upgraded to four stars. The original issue I had with this seems to be a random defect. I have now used this product 7 times and it is very functional safe and practical. Once again, Moen customer service is perfect, I would buy other Moen products in a heartbeat

UPDATE Sunday July 14:
I received a new unit FedExed overnight from Moen only 20 hours after my discussion with Cus. Service. So far so good with the new one. It does not collapse. Perhaps my previous experience was a freak. I'm upgrading my rating from one star to three, and may upgrade further if this unit continues to hold up. Moen customer service is really good by the way. In fact it is stunning.

Original rating:
Used it three times, plus demonstration use to physical therapist. It collapses several inches when weight is put on it. The 'adjustment buttons' which control the height of the three vertical legs are poorly designed and pop in without warning, this causes bench to drop to its lowest possible setting on one side. This only occurs on the side with the two vertical legs, not the side with the modern looking single wide leg. Both of the aluminum legs on the other side will collapse.Today, July 10 2013 my P.Therapist reviewed my assembly of the bench, we both agreed it was correct. Then I carefully sat in it again and it immediately collapsed about 4 inches when I moved slightly.
I just had a below the knee amputation and I weigh 292lbs. The Moen transfer bench is "rated to 400 lbs" according to Moen.
I was not injured when these two collapses occurred because it only fell a few inches.
I am about to call Moen on the phone; I will update this review and tell you about their response.

Update Sept. 20, 2013: I love it. I'm a big heavy guy, this turned out to be really nice. If you have never used a transfer bench like this you should if you are missing a leg like me or have a similar issue. Quality is excellent, well designed, and perfect customer service. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
