My wife has been using this wheel chair daily for 5 months now. She finds it very comfortable and easy to use. Although one does not buy a wheel chair for its looks, this one is quite attractive in comparison to all others we have seen.
As a caregiver, I greatly appreciate its light weight when I am lifting it into and out of the trunk. I have also handled the heavier ones that medical supply stores typically rent, and find the much lighter weight of the Karman unit makes a huge differnce in lessening the strain on my back and arms. The ability to fold the back makes the Karman chair more compact and therefore easier to lift and handle. Although I seldom remove the wheels, it is good to know that feature is available when trunk space is at a premium.
As a mechanical engineer, I appreciate the excellent design that has gone into this product to make it light but strong and rigid.
When we did have a service issue, the staff at Karman were extremely courteous and had our situation resolved very expeditiously.
