This vest is easy to put on although I probably would use snaps instead of buttons.I have arthritis in my hands and it was difficult to button because the fabric is a canvas type denim made to not give. The nylon webbing needs to be tight across the chest especially under the arms. The first time I tried a transfer the vest wasn't tight enough and needless to say my husband didn't transfer well. I found that tightening the webbing making the vest really snug made him feel safe and the transfer went easier. Nothing I've found is perfect but for a person who can assist even a small a bit the is a fantastic item.
