Twinlab Cod Liver Oil, 250 Sftgls ( Multi-Pack) Review

This package just arrived. I read the side of one of the bottles to discover that the capsules are made of cod liver oil, soybean oil and gelatin. Gelatin is fine and, of course, cod liver oil is good - that's the reason I bought this product! But why did they have to cheapen it with the inclusion of soybean oil? I was really disappointed after ordering 3 bottles.

I will still take the capsules, as I believe CLO is beneficial enough to outweigh the unhealthy effects on my body of the soybean oil. It has an opposite effect on the body, from what I understand, and really discounts the benefits of the CLO.

It was an unwise decision on the part of Twinlabs to formulate this way. Soybean oil is an industrial, cheap, overprocessed oil that is foreign to the human body's systems and causes harm to our health.

Soybeans are genetically mutated by certain companies I won't mention (so that they can be mass produced) and extremely over-subsidized by the U.S. government. The reason for this is so that we can stuff cows, chickens and pigs full of soy and corn (another over-subsidized, mass-produced crop) instead of their natural diets, making it easier to factory farm these animals so that we can get cheaper meat at the supermarket. Because of the subsidies, soybeans are used for a variety of overprocessed foods, especially in the form of soybean oil. We don't need to get it from yet another source, ESPECIALLY one that is supposed to provide us with better health!

Soybean oil, being an industrial seed-based oil, is already full of Omega 6 fats that we are trying to counter/balance with the Omega 3 fats in foods and supplements like CLO. So it not only doesn't make sense for this formula to contain both oils, it's counterproductive, wasteful and deceptive.

Twinlabs, I hope you decide to reformulate using purely CLO or at least combining with a healthier, preindustrial oil like olive or grapeseed or similar.
