The WP 70 is one of their best products. I've used waterpics for years and liked them. Never burnt out a motor but the plastic water hoses can break, the weak point. The old waterpic had a variable pressure dial on the motor housing, which I liked better but the adjustable pressure on the wand, itself, works well enough if you don't accidentally slide it to the high pressure mode. That kind of pressure can really hurt the gums if they are sensitive. Make sure to watch that setting. Does the product work? Yes. Very well at getting food particles out and toughening the gums, to keep them healthy and for good circulation. These devices have been around for a long time and are proven. For instance, I had issues with gingivitis about 20 years ago and my dentist warned me he would have to do a "root planing" which, he told me, is not comfortable. He advised me to get a good electric toothbrush. Either the Oral B, or Sonic Care. Either are good products and work well effectively cleaning at the gum line. It helped bring the distances down to 2 and 3 mm from 5 and 6. The higher the number, the more receding the gum line. This opens the door for disease and infection. I use it once per day.

If you're new to the waterpic, watch for the tenderness and gum bleeding. Do not use it on the hard pressure setting at first but, rather build up to that setting. You don't have to blow apart your gums to get a good cleaning and I would disagree with some dentists who recommend using the highest pressure setting over the course of use. The book says you don't need it but a good firm setting is recommended. The weak link is the water hose. The plastic can get brittle and break, as mentioned, as it did with mine but I was able to find a replacement hose and wand assembly. I like the 70, but if you want to go fancier, the 90 has some nice features for the extra cost. These products are tried and true and I give it a strong plus and recommendation for that reason as well as their effective cleaning. For dental health, it's a must. Be sure to look for coupons or ask your dentist if he/she has one.
