Tony of Beverly Womens Synthetic Wig ''Andie''-101: Pearl Platinum Review

I owned a couple wigs several years ago, & thought it would be fun to have one again. After trying several styles on, I purchased 'Andie'. I really, really wanted 'Andie' in Strawberry Frost which is very similar to my natural hair color. The owner was reluctant to order Andie in my preferred color so I settled for Malibu Blonde which he had in stock. It looks nice too...and it looks like natural hair. After wearing the wig a few hours, I felt it creeping up my head...sloooowly working its way off. That's when I remembered being told that this wig has an adjustable strap on the inside. I took the wig off & saw the straps which each have a hook on the end. They attach to a ribbon/tape which is sewn about every 1/2" to adjust the tightness of the wig. Now that I've adjusted the strap, I haven't had any problem with a creeping wig. I wear over the ear hearing aids & glasses, combining those two items with the bulk of the wig there wasn't much room for my hearing aids & they were slipping off my ear. Since I adjusted the strap, I haven't had any problem with the hearing aids slipping off.
Update: I've been pulling my hair back into a low ponytail...sometimes 3 low ponytails. The ponytail/s act as anchors & prevent the wig from creeping up.

'Andie' has a lot of layered ends & can be styled many different ways; Amazon's product photos show 2 styling options & the back. I style it differently with 'piecey' bangs, the sides swept back & the nape curly & pulled towards my face. The back is full of wide, loose curls which I love. I like the fun of piecey style hairdos & 'Andie' fits my styling needs.

After trying several styles & colors, I can't imagine ordering a wig without knowing how it might look on me. Some colors which were particularly pretty actually looked like greying hair on me. Some colors didn't look dark until I tried them on. I tried at least 5 styles - some I loved didn't have enough length on the nape for me. So it was a 'trying' process. 'Andie' looks natural on me.

It was very windy today when I was out & about with 'Andie'. Walking by a mirror, I did a quick check to see how 'Andie' was handling the wind...oh, my gosh! 'Andie' wasn't handling the wind...I looked like a comedian who, for whatever reason, decided to throw a wig on. Curls were everywhere but where I'd placed them. So, I'm going to have to learn how to wind proof 'Andie'.

A reminder about synthetic wigs: Be careful around heat sources. The wig can be singed by the rush of heat when you open the oven door, from backing up to a warm fire, & maybe from steam from boiling water. If you wear a synthetic wig, be careful around heat sources.

Update: I have decided that Andie has a little too much hair around my face for me. Sometimes I take a small amount of 'hair' and bobby pin it under the wig. No one can tell & it gets some of the 'hair' away from my face. Actually, I'm probably the only one that thinks Andie has too much hair in the front. I recently purchased Ryan Tony of Beverly Womens Synthetic Wig ''Ryan''-Malibu Blonde: medium gold blonde in Malibu Blonde. Ryan has just the right amount of hair for me. Also, I was surprised that Ryan is more blonde than Andie. I style Ryan differently that any of the photos & use wig spray to keep the style in. Ryan doesn't have as many curls as Andie. When I wear Andie or Ryan, the majority of my close friends can't tell I'm wearing a wig until I tell them.

Update: After wearing Andie a few hours, the curls start to tighten. It looks great in the back & on the sides, but the front & bangs tighten up & I feel it looks like an old-fashioned style. Wig spray doesn't seem to prevent this.
