Scooter runs great and was quick and easy to assemble.

As with most rechargeable batteries, we ran the battery down for the first two weeks until it was completely dead (in order not to create a bad "memory" as I've run into on my cell phone). We plugged it back in about a week later and the batter wouldn't even recharge at all. The company said the battery needs to be kept plugged in when not in use and leaving it dead for a week ruined it. Never heard of such a thing before, but the seller charged over a hundred dollars to get a new battery on a three week old purchase because I voided the warranty by not properly charging constantly. Seems a little strange to me, thus I can only have 3-stars.

Pride Jazzy Select HD Heavy Duty Power Chair - Blue - JSELECTHD Review

The chair itself has three design elements that are not ideal for my mother.
1) The two little stabilizing wheels that sit on either side of the foot plate are placed in a way that, with the foot plate up, my mother has to walk straight out from the chair rather than pivoting and stepping to the side to her waiting lift chair. She can easily hit her ankle or foot on the projecting small wheels. I've wrapped them in gauze and bright Coban to soften the blow and visually alert her of the danger.
2) I removed the foot plate because it is too difficult for her to step up onto it and then pivot around to sit down or to reverse those steps to exit the chair (though the foot plate is certainly heavy-duty enough to support her weight).
3) The control panel held at the end of the arm rest by a single steel rod presents an ideal ergonomic choice for my mother to grab as she stands and turns herself around to sit - but it is the worst choice structurally. If she breaks it off, I've been warned the repair will be costly.

06/09/2013: Paid a handyman $20 to saw off the offending stabilizing wheels and receiver hubs and the foot plate receiver hub. Problem solved. There is no resulting instability the way my mother uses this chair. She uses it in the house or patio and does not go up or down hills. If she did, having the stabilizer wheels would be more safe.

I bought a Pride Pursuit about a month ago and really love it! The added speed and power gives me a safety edge, when crossing wide, busy streets. If need be, I can quickly get out of the way of an oncoming vehicle. I still have my Victory 10, which is great to take along when I go somewhere on the bus, but the Pursuit is my primary means of getting around town.

It does require reasonable upper body strength to control this vehicle, so it isn't for someone who's very frail. It's a bit awkward to maneuver around inside a store, but with care and practice, it can be done.

The rear-view mirror that came with it is utterly worthless. It sticks up so high that it interferes with reaching for the basket on the front. Also, the mirror vibrates so badly when the scooter is in motion, that you can't really see if anything is behind you. I managed to find a pair of motorcycle mirrors that fit and work well.

The plastic front basket is so small as to be almost useless. It only holds a single plastic grocery bag. The wire mesh baskets are slightly larger, so I just use the one that came with my Victory.

Bought it from a private party. 5 years old but been in storage for past 3 years. Charged the battery's and they woke right up. Amazed me. I wanted it because I suffer from Asbestos's and can no longer walk more then a few yards. My 2 lbs LOX canteen fits easily in the basket.This thing works nifty! Even on dirt roads. Off to the mail box. (About 200 yards.) To the neighbors. Even the local store about a mile away.

It is stable, but light. Comes apart in 4 pieces without tools for carrying in the car. OK for longer trips but not to handy for gadding about town. Going to buy a hitch mounted carrier for that. Don't have experience with other scooters to compare it with but it sure is the ticket for me. If your having mobility problems and want to get around outside this is the ticket!
